The Victoria Regional Transit System is the name for the bus services in and around Victoria, which are run by BC Transit. There are services all over the city and the bus station is very centrally located and easy to find behind the landmark of the Fairmont Empress Hotel.
If you’re just getting around the Downtown Victoria you may well find that you don’t need a bus to get around, though there are some popular attractions which are a little further out for which a bus might be a good idea. Bus # 11 for example, is the one to catch to take you out to Craigdarroch Castle and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria.
If you do want to make use of the buses for several journeys in a day, consider buying a day pass as this will quickly pay for itself.
Victoria is a bicycle friendly city; there are more cycle routes here than in any other Canadian city! So this makes a great way to get around the sights, traveling at your own pace.
